Massage Essentials: Swedish (Round III)
Time & Location
About the Event
Sunday June 23rd, 9:00-5:00
Here it is -- The next installment in the Massage Essentials Series! The previous Swedish workshops had great reviews; every attendee said that they left with new techniques to use, a better grasp of material, and healthier body mechanics.
Each of these Essentials workshops will look at a specific approach to bodywork with the intention to refresh & brush up on body mechanics & techniques, as a reminder of all of your essential massage tools. This time around we will revisit "deeper" work, including connective tissue and neuromuscular approaches.
The workshop will be taught by Dex White, LMT.
We will cover:
~a brief history and review of the key concepts to this approach
~proper body mechanics
~demonstration of techniques
~hands-on practice time
~discussion and feedback
***Please note that the intention of the Massage Essentials workshops is review. It is expected that attendees will already have a working knowledge of the bodywork. This will also not be a time for presenting new techniques or theory (those workshops are coming soon!) Rather the intention is to refresh and renew, brush up on body mechanics that may have gotten a bit sloppy, and blow the dust off of some moves you may not have used in a while!
The workshop is open to LMTs and graduates of massage school. CE credit/units are not yet offered, but will potentially be in the near future, and would be retroactive.
You will need to bring:
~a set of sheets, face-cradle cover, and blanket for yourself
~oil, lotion, or shea butter
~note-taking materials if you like to take notes
*There is a small kitchen available if you are bringing lunch during our 1 hour lunch break.
The workshop has limited availability and is open to the first 8 registrants only.
